Victoria Beach

The weather forecast was promising so I decided to go for a short ride around to Victoria Beach. Yes I have been there before but it's still a great ride with almost no-one else on the road and great views of the water and foliage.

I didn't stop at Port Royal but make sure you do if you come along this way. It's a great little spot and has a ton of history to offer and some great views as well. I'll add some later as I have been there before and I like it a lot.
Also check out Port Royal on Wikipedia.

But just up the road is an old area of settlement called Melanson Settlement, worth a stop to stretch your legs and to look out over the water. No buildings or anything like that but some interesting sign boards that tell you what used to be there. If you are interested in that stuff it's interesting..if not then skip it.
There are outdoor toilets here if you really need to use them.

This sign tells you what it is all about. (English below) Must have been a french dude who made this sign!!

Signs that tell you about the area.

The weather has been so nice that the blossoms are out early. But this is in a shaded area and they are still in great shape. The rest of the valley has had the blossoms already gone. The bees were very busy among these blossoms.

Now on the road to Victoria beach.

A fishing boat coming in through the gut and going to Digby.

Point Prim lighthouse from the Victoria Beach side. It really is a nice view from here. Taken from the property of former MLA and long time businessman in the area Joe Casey.

This is the little lighthouse in Victoria Beach.  It's on a steep road that is really hard to park a motorcycle on!! Hopefully I'll get here on day when it's open or get a look inside.

This along the road in Victoria Beach. A long since abandoned house that is being taken over by bushes and an apple tree that is in blossom.

Road into Victoria Beach. Not bad at all. Not new pavement but not in bad shape for being a little traveled road. I suppose residents of Victoria Beach would argue but there really are not that many of them.

This is the view from that lighthouse below looking NW.

The lighthouse across from Goat Island. This is the one that appears on the main page of the blog. This is the other side.

Well after this I rode home wand there was not much more to report that I haven't already. So thanks for looking and if have any questions about the area please ask.
